THE FOREST AND THE CROWS
BOOK ONE (A SONG OF NIALLA)
Sackery is one of the Vedrethal, a warrior-servant who fought for the Vedreron during the days before mankind would arrive on the continent Arún. He promised to keep the daughter of a man he trusted safe. He journeys with the girl’s mother, Cyridel Elendsah, an Ellúndar Princess of the Míran kingdom-city of Ilhivendal. It is a hard road they follow.

Nialla, daughter of Galron and Cyridel, is a child born of two worlds. But she grew up on the road, never staying anywhere for too long, calling “home” wherever she lays her head.

Hidden amongst the roving masses, Sackery of the Vedrethal leads Cyridel and Nialla to the ends of the world to build a more peaceful life away from war and politics. Yet, no matter how far they go, danger tracks their course.

A story pushes them on, searching for that moment of safety. Will they find it? Or will they suffer loss at the cruel hands of a distant past?

THE LADY OF THE MOUNTAINS
BOOK TWO (A SONG OF NIALLA)
They say a person can hear music at the edge of the world, a song from a girl on the Greencliffs of Wilhimusk. Her name is Nialla, a child of many worlds, and the daughter of Galron and Cyridel—Endúcar and Miralifrim. She arrived years ago after the battle with the Crows at Mireaderal, finding a home where she once had none.

Sackery remains her dutiful protector—Master Greywolfe, as those of the village call him. He spends his days training the Jhalamar in the Vedrethal traditions, warrior-servants and scholars that served the Vedreron of the First Era, scattered.

Theirs is a simple life away from long journeys and political strife, until their peace is upended by tragedy. Sackery must lead his sworn Jhalamar in their first true test against an ancient foe. Nialla confronts a great loss while her mother, Cyridel, contends with a mysterious figure.

A promise once made will not easily be forgotten in a tale of revenge, a chance to understand, and a moment when the true threat shows its face.
